April 10 - April 12, 2020 (Friday to Sunday)

To maintain social distancing and reduce suffering and the causes of suffering, this retreat will follow an online-only modified format. A limited number of guided group sessions offered by one or more of the teachers will be available via Zoom. Additional resources to complete a self-directed retreat will be provided. Unfortunately, individual meetings with teachers will not be available during online retreats.

As human beings, we can often look for solace from life’s challenges in places that end up compounding the original difficulty. How do we seek true refuge instead – one that provides the safety, ease and joy that allows our minds to rest, and our hearts to open and discover freedom?

During this silent weekend retreat, featuring meditation instructions, sitting and walking meditation practice, talks about the teachings and the opportunity to ask questions, we will explore, in theory and in practice, the Buddha’s teachings on where true refuge can be found, right in this very moment.

This course is suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators. All are welcome!

We are sorry that our place of refuge is temporarily closed due to COVID-19 concerns. While our online retreats cannot replace the traditional retreat format at IMS, we hope they offer a deeper connection to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha (community) at this challenging time.
