IMS Online FAQ

The IMS Online Learning Center offers access to our latest IMS Online programs. We built the IMS Online Learning Center after receiving feedback from students and teachers seeking a simple and convenient way to access all of their IMS Online programs in one location. We hope this simplifies your learning journey, makes it easier to access past programs, and offers a greater sense of community via discussion groups and other tools.

Go to ims.dharma.org and browse the available programs. Click on your desired program, select your sliding scale registration fee, and click “Enroll Now.”

As of October 1, 2021, most new IMS Online programs will only be available in the IMS Online Learning Center. A library of past programs remains available on-demand at Union.fit until the end of 2023 when they will either be removed or migrated to our current learning center

No. If you previously registered for a program on Union.fit, that program was available to you on Union.fit until January 1, 2024 at 12:00 am ET. We have since removed all programs and closed IMS Online’s account on that platform

If you attended an IMS Online retreat between April 2020 and September 2021 and were given access to a private webpage with the Zoom recordings, those pages were active until January 1, 2024 at 12:00 am ET. All programs since September 2021 are available to registrants through the Learning Center for 90 days, after which time they are unpublished. The audio files can be requested during that 90-day window to download for your permanent records, please reach out to IMS Online if you would like access to those files.

As of October 1, 2021, new on-demand programs have been available in the IMS Online Learning Center. Any On Demand programs before then, that were not migrated over based on programming needs, are no longer available.

Yes. As one part of our ongoing effort to expand access to the teachings of the Buddha, all IMS Online programs feature multiple registration fee options, including the opportunity to self-select a low cost scholarship rate. Free programs are offered regularly, and no-fee enrollment for paid programs is available for those who request a fee waiver via email to imsonline@dharma.org. Our system supports the cultivation of a dynamic and inclusive community and is made possible by our generous donors and those who contribute at the Benefactor level.

To expand access to the Dharma, all new IMS Online programs feature three options assigned to all IMS Online programs: Sustainer Rate, Benefactor Rate, and Scholarship Rate. You no longer need to request a scholarship; simply self-select that rate if it is appropriate for you. IMS Online also offers no-fee enrollment to those who request a no-fee waiver via email. Unfortunately, our automated system is unable to accept offering amounts that are not designated on the sliding scale.

Registration fees support the cost of developing and offering IMS Online programs. We price online programs to make them as financially accessible to as many people as possible. Therefore, IMS Online teachers do not receive a portion of the registration fee. “Teacher Dana” contributions help IMS teachers lead a life devoted to the Dharma and to service. At the end of each online program, IMS will send participants an email with a link allowing them to offer a donation to the teachers and assistant teachers. Your gift of teacher dana is so appreciated.
