Meeting format (During program sessions, you will be able to see and hear the teacher, as well as other program participants, and they will be able to see and hear you).

During this mini-retreat, we will explore the wise intention of harmlessness or gentleness as the supportive basis for our mindfulness practice. Rooting our practice in the quality of gentleness opens us to an allowing, accepting attention that brings calm to our hearts and minds. With acceptance we are able to rest in clear seeing of moment-to-moment experience as it unfolds.

Mindfulness infused with gentleness is a capacity available to all of us. It is a cause and condition for awakening. Our aspiration for this retreat is to create a supportive environment where we can open to this potential within us. As we practice together, the intention of nonharming and gentleness can take root, to nourish our meditation practice on the cushion and in the world.

All are welcome, both seasoned and beginning meditators alike.

Teacher Support
Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—offer their teachings freely, and rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. Teachers do not generally receive compensation from IMS program fees, though IMS may offer a modest advance to ensure financial support and the continuation of the teachings. Click here to learn more about teacher support. There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teachers at the end of your program, or you may donate now.
