Finding Refuge in Breath and Body

This retreat is held online.

IMS Online
This retreat is held online.
June 27 - June 27, 2021 (Sunday to Sunday)

Meeting format (During program sessions, you will be able to see and hear the teacher, as well as other program participants, and they will be able to see and hear you).

We will use this practice period to explore mindfulness of the body including the full awareness of breathing. In the process, we will cultivate greater openness, compassion and wisdom. Our aspiration is to know the direct experience of breath and body as refuge.

“When mindfulness of breathing is developed and cultivated, it is of great fruit and great benefit. When mindfulness of breathing is developed and cultivated, it fulfills the four foundations of mindfulness. When the four foundations of mindfulness are developed and cultivated, they fulfill the seven factors of enlightenment. When the seven enlightenment factors are developed and cultivated, they fulfill true knowledge and liberation.”
– the Buddha

All are welcome, both seasoned and beginning meditators alike.

Teacher Support
Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—offer their teachings freely, and rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. Teachers do not generally receive compensation from IMS program fees, though IMS may offer a modest advance to ensure financial support and the continuation of the teachings. Click here to learn more about teacher support. There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teachers at the end of your program, or you may donate now.
