We will use this practice period to explore mindfulness of the body including the full awareness of breathing. In the process, we will cultivate greater openness, compassion and wisdom. Our aspiration is to know the direct experience of breath and body as refuge.

When mindfulness of breathing is developed and cultivated, it fulfills the four foundations of mindfulness. When the four foundations of mindfulness are developed and cultivated, they fulfill the seven factors of enlightenment. All are welcome, both seasoned and beginning meditators alike.
For this program, sliding scale fees are $35, $45, $55, or $75. Please select the highest rate you can reasonably afford. We also offer a scholarship fee of $20, and no-fee enrollment for those who request a fee-waiver. Our “Pay What You Can Afford" system supports the cultivation of a dynamic and inclusive community and contributes to the health and vibrancy of the sangha. Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—offer their teachings freely, and rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. Teachers do not generally receive compensation from IMS program fees, though IMS may offer a modest advance to ensure financial support and the continuation of the teachings.
