January 15 - January 18, 2023 (Sunday to Wednesday)

The Buddha's teachings are a powerful guide for developing the strength of love and wisdom needed to participate skillfully and wholeheartedly in our lives and in the world. Honoring the full scope of humanity in and around us, we learn how sensitivity supports our skillful movement on the earth as we are called to address the many injustices that we awaken to. During this silent insight meditation retreat, we will interweave the Buddha's teachings with the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. so that we might better learn to do our own work in service of our collective liberation. All are welcome, including both beginning and experienced meditators – please join us.

A limited number of You Choose fee spaces are available for ages 18-26. This means you can establish your own retreat fee, based on your financial means. A minimum of $25 per day is required (i.e. a minimum of $75 for the entire retreat). Email registration@dharma.org to apply.

All Hemera Contemplative Fellowships have been awarded for 2023. Please feel free to check back in 2023 for any updates.

Teacher Support: Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—offer their teachings freely, and rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. Teachers do not generally receive compensation from IMS program fees. Click here to learn more about teacher support. There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teachers at the end of this program, or you may donate now.
