March 24 - March 31, 2023 (Friday to Friday)

Held within the classical context of silence and simplicity, a powerful sense of community develops and this supports our emergent capacity for deepening wisdom and compassion. Through sustained insight meditation practice that includes sitting and walking as well as mindful movement, we share in daily talks, instructions, guided metta (boundless friendliness) practice, and meetings with the teachers.

This annual gathering has a long tradition of intergenerational inclusivity. We all learn from one another in the midst of the strengths and insecurities pertaining to our generation. Younger participants enjoy and appreciate the experience and wisdom of the older ones, and the older ones tend to love the freshness and wisdom of the younger women.

Suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators, this retreat is open to anyone who identifies as a woman, including cis, trans, and more.

An optional daily period of mindful movement will be offered by Éowyn Ahlstrom.

All Hemera Contemplative Fellowships have been awarded for this retreat. Please feel free to check back here for any updates.

Teacher Support: Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—offer their teachings freely, and rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. Teachers do not generally receive compensation from IMS program fees. Click here to learn more about teacher support. There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teachers at the end of this program, or you may donate now.
