Awareness is a natural quality of the mind. When the mind is relaxed and at ease, a natural awareness can become a part of our lives. This moment-to-moment awareness enables us to see things as they are, leading to the blossoming of wisdom and compassion.

This silent retreat will emphasize developing a continuity of awareness that is supported by wise attitude and wise effort. Practicing with a receptive, kind attitude and a relaxed yet diligent effort enables us to explore how our life is our practice, and that all experience can become a support for greater awareness, wisdom and compassion.

The daily format will include regular group check-ins with the teachers, an optional movement session led by Susa Talan, and flexible periods of sitting and walking meditation to support self-reliance in the practice. This course is suitable for beginning as well as experienced students.

Teacher Support: Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—offer their teachings freely, and rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. Teachers do not generally receive compensation from IMS program fees. Click here to learn more about teacher support. There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teachers at the end of this program, or you may donate now.
