Meeting format (During program sessions, you will be able to see and hear the teacher, as well as other program participants, and they will be able to see and hear you).

Clearly perceiving the present moment again and again, with gentle, persevering effort, is the ground for awakening. As we develop trust in this process, mindfulness practice deepens. Peace, joy, and insight naturally arise as we return with openness and care to our unfolding experience, both during formal practice and in daily life. During this mini-retreat, together we will cultivate clear perception, trust in the practice, and a natural stillness of mind that each of us has the capacity to experience.

Designed for people with an ongoing daily practice and some residential retreat experience, these Mini Retreats will offer instructions and guidance on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. The retreats are designed to allow students to fine-tune their development of both the samatha (tranquility) and vipassana (clear seeing) aspects of the practice. In addition, continuity of mindfulness throughout the entire retreat period will be emphasized.

For this course, sliding scale fees are $35, $45, $55, or $75. We also offer a scholarship fee of $20, and no-fee enrollment for those who request a fee-waiver. Our “Pay What You Can Afford" system supports the cultivation of a dynamic and inclusive community and contributes to the health and vibrancy of the sangha. Select the rate of your choice when you register. Email imsonline@dharma.org for more information or to request a no-fee enrollment.

A note on dana (generosity)
Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood, and receive no compensation from course fees. All IMS online teachers receive a modest dana advance from IMS to guarantee a minimum level of financial support. (Click here to learn more about the dana practice.) There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teacher at the end of this course or you may do so here: Donate Now: Teacher Dana.
