On Demand: Practice with IMS teachers on your schedule, at your own pace!

During these times of global tension and confusion, we need to find the inspiration to face the future in a way that serves us and others through both clarity and heartfulness. Sharon Salzberg will explore faith, not as religious adherence or deference to an external authority, but as trust in our inner capacity for awareness and love, and as recognition of the interconnected world in which we live. We will explore combining the heart and the discerning wisdom to develop a greater ease with ourselves and the world.

In the Buddhist tradition faith is not seen as a commodity that you either have the right kind of or the right amount of or you will be condemned. It is a healing power of the heart that is actually enhanced by doubt and immeasurably enriched by self respect. It’s opposite is despair.

The format for each class, suitable for both new and experienced practitioners, will include guided meditations, a talk and opportunities for questions.

Cost is sliding-scale: $30, $40, or $50, your choice. Paying at a higher rate helps IMS to offer ongoing support to teachers and staff during this period of closure. For more information, please email imsonline@dharma.org.

A note on dana (generosity)
Most IMS teachers—like insight teachers around the world—rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood, and receive no compensation from course fees. All IMS online teachers receive a modest dana advance from IMS to guarantee a minimum level of financial support. (Click here to learn more about the dana practice.) There will be an opportunity to offer a contribution to your teacher at the end of this course.
