As our capacity for wisdom and compassion deepen, our ability to bring about real and transformative change in the world increases. During this weekend celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., this retreat will focus on developing meditative tools to help us better understand key issues of our time, and to address them with greater awareness and balance of mind.
The course, open to all, will be held in the context of silence, with structured intentional dialogue exercises. The format each day will include alternate periods of silent sitting and walking meditation and talks about the teachings, as well as an optional period of mindful movement offered by trainee teacher Leslie Booker.
