We practice meditation to develop wisdom and insight that can free the heart and mind. Mindfulness is a part of this path, but is it enough? What skillful attitudes and ideas are also important to have present in the meditating mind? How can we cultivate and mature our practice?
Drawing from the teachings of Sayadaw U Tejaniya, we will explore and refine together how noticing our own experience skillfully, moment by moment, allows the mind's natural wisdom and compassion to blossom. This can bring deeper ease to the stresses and challenges of daily life.
This silent weekend is appropriate for those who are new to retreat life, as well as for experienced meditators.
On February 14, 2016, we will also mark IMS's 40th anniversary.
