Led by ordained monastics from the Canadian Forest sangha, this retreat will focus on the practice of anapanasati, or mindfulness of breathing. This is a core part of the traditional path and was much praised by the Buddha.

In this course, we plan to explore the way we can use this excellent practice to deepen our understanding and enhance our well-being.

This retreat is an invitation to all to experience a taste of monastic life. The traditional eight precepts will be observed - this includes abstaining from eating after noon. Each day's schedule will include silent sitting, standing and walking meditations, talks about the teachings, devotional chants, and dedications for the welfare of all beings.

Our wish is to make this course accessible to anyone who would like to attend. We offer a You Choose fee option, charging a minimum of just $17 per night (i.e. $119 minimum total). Those who can contribute more, however, help IMS to continue providing financial aid to as many people as possible.
