dhammam patipattiyā
buddham pūjemi |
By this practice,
truly in accord with the dhamma,
I honor the Buddha. |

I honor the Dhamma. |
imāya dhammānu-

sangham pūjemi |
By this practice,
truly in accord with the dhamma,
I honor the Sangha. |
imāya dhammānu-
dhammam patipattiyā
mātā pitunam pūjemi |
By this practice,
truly in accord with the dhamma,
I honor my mother and father. |
imāya dhammānu-
dhammam patipattiyā
ācariyānam pūjemi |
By this practice,
truly in accord with the dhamma,
I honor my teachers. |
aham avero homi
abyāpajjho homi
anigho homi
sukhī attānam pariharāmi |
May I be free from enmity.
May I be free from mental suffering.
May I be free from physical suffering.
May I take care of myself happily. |
imasmim ārāme sabbe yogino |
All the yogis in this place— |
averā hontu
abyāpajjhā hontu
anighā hontu
sukhī attānam pariharantu |
May they be free from enmity.
May they be free from mental suffering.
May they be free from physical suffering.
May they take care of themselves happily. |
amhākam ārakkhā devatā
imasmim vihāre
imasmim āvāse
imasmimm ārāme
ārakhhā devatā |
Our guardian deities
in this temple,
in this dwelling,
in this place,
[All] the guardian deities— |
averā hontu
abyāpajjhā hontu
anighā hontu
sukhī attānam pariharantu |
May they be free from enmity.
May they be free from mental suffering.
May they be free from physical suffering.
May they take care of themselves happily. |
sabbe sattā
sabbe pānā
sabbe bhūtā
sabbe puggalā
sabbe attabhāvā pariyāpannā
sabbe itthiyo
sabbe purisā
sabbe ariyā
sabbe anariyā
sabbe devā
sabbe manussā
sabbe vinipātikā |
May all beings—
all living things,
all creatures,
all individuals,
all personalities,
all females
all males,
all noble ones,
all who are not nobles,
all deities,
all humans,
all those in unhappy states— |
averā hontu
abyāpajjhā hontu
anighā hontu
sukhī attānam pariharantu |
May they be free from enmity.
May they be free from mental suffering.
May they be free from physical suffering.
May they take care of themselves happily. |
dukkhā muccantu
yathā laddha-sampattito
māvigacchantu kammassakā |
May they be free from suffering.
May they enjoy safety and abundance.
May they have kamma as their true property. |
sabbe buddhā iddhippattā |
By the power of all Buddhas who have attained supranormal powers, |
paccekānañca ya iddhi
arahantānañca tejena
rakkham banddhāmi sabbaso |
and non-teaching Buddhas,
and fully enlightened ones—
I (establish) protection in every way/in every direction. |
sabbe buddhā khemappattā |
By the power of all Buddhas who have reached safety, |
paccekānañca yam khemam
arahantānañca tejena
rakkham banddhāmi sabbaso |
and non-teaching Buddhas,
and fully enlightened ones—
I (establish) protection in every way/in every direction. |
sabbe buddhā jinappattā |
By the power of all Buddhas who have been victorious, |
paccekānañca yo jino
arahantānañca tejena
rakkham banddhāmi sabbaso |
and non-teaching Buddhas,
and fully enlightened ones—
I (establish) protection in every way/in every direction. |
sabbe buddhā balappattā |
By the power of all Buddhas who have strength, |
paccekānañca yam balam
arahantānañca tejena
rakkham banddhāmi sabbaso |
and non-teaching Buddhas,
and fully enlightened ones—
I (establish) protection in every way/in every direction. |
sabbe buddhā sirippattā |
By the power of all Buddhas who are glorious, |
paccekānañca ya siri
arahantānañca tejena
rakkham banddhāmi sabbaso |
and non-teaching Buddhas,
and fully enlightened ones—
I (establish) protection in every way/in every direction. |
sabbe buddhā niccappattā |
By the power of all Buddhas who remain unmoved, |
paccekānañca yam niccam
arahantānañca tejena
rakkham banddhāmi sabbaso |
and non-teaching Buddhas,
and fully enlightened ones—
I (establish) protection in every way/direction. |
addhā imāya
patipadāya
jarāmaranamhā
parimoccissāmi |
Surely, by this
practice,
I will be freed
from aging and death. |
idam me puññam
āsavakkhayavaham hotu |
May this merit of ours
be a vehicle for the destruction of the āsavas. |
idam me puññam
nibbānassa paccayo hotu |
May this merit of ours
help bring about the attainment of nibbāna. |
idam me puññam bhāgam
sabbe sattānam |
May this merit of ours be apportioned
to all beings. |
